Nelly Furtado (妮莉费塔朵) 是一位拥有葡萄牙籍血统、来自加拿大的创作型才女，今年21岁，拥有南欧气息外貌出众、令各大知名时尚杂志争邀上封面的Nelly，18岁那年再多伦多的新秀选拔歌唱大赛中，被制作人Gerald Eaton及Brian West (前加拿大funk-pop团the Philosopher Kings双人组) 一眼相中并全力栽培，于2000年底推出由Nelly和这两位制作人包办所有创作的首发专辑《Whoa, Nelly》。
