这个时代流行搞恶，就连流行朋克的领军团队Green Day业无法幸免，这不，一个名叫Dean Gray的美国小伙就把Green Day全球热卖的重生专辑American Idiot恨恨的，同时很好的搞了一把恶。

2005年接近尾声的时候Dean Gray受到Green Day的启发，在网上掷出了一颗音乐手榴弹—American Edit。这颗手榴弹的威力非同小可，专辑中除了Green Day还有Oasis,Travis,Queen, Aerosmith,Eminem,Ashanti等人的歌曲采样，这是一张remix的专辑，作者富有创意的将这些人的歌曲混入原来Green Day的歌曲中，但细细听来仍能辨出原曲是那首。从专辑的封面也可以看的出，如果不细看你完全会认为是 Green Day的American Idiot，TMD，恶搞到家了。当然了在被MTV、NME、SPIN等着名媒体关注和报道的同时，还一度受到来自Warner Music、EMI的巨大压力——阻止其发行——毕竟事关Money的问题——差一点就使这张专辑胎死腹中！

不过，这张大杂烩终于还是出了，没听过的最好听听，不包你百分百喜欢，但绝对百分百爽！

HELLO, I'M DEAN GRAY.

Well, what can I say besides, "Wow!" Since I released my reinterpretations of the Green Day band's hot new album American Idiot, titled by my producers American Edit, on November 18th, 2005, my life has been a whirlwind of paparazzi and pestering interviewers, film and TV offers, and marriage proposals. It reminds me of the time after the release of "Behind the Mask of Hakanupanka," the 1948 film about an ancient Hawaiian curse (filmed in exotic Oahu) in which I played a speaking role as Chauffer #3. It seemed like the next thing I knew, everybody from Boise to Hoboken was wearing Hawaiian shirts and drinking "Mai Tais." I like to think I had just a little bit to do with that.

So it is with great humility and pride that I announce the following: my producers have informed me that my album has been honored by the receipt of a "C&D," which my producers tell me stands for "Coke & Drambuie," which doesn't sound very appealing but is apparently industry slang for "I'd like to take you out for a drink and discuss the future of your career and in the mean time we must keep your brilliant album under wraps, in order to whet the public's appetite for a brilliant, explosive relaunch." Well, serve me up another "C&D," baby, cause Dean Gray feels like making a toast!

In what can only be described as the most appropriate of surprises to be bestowed upon me during this time, apparently the mayor of Hollywood has honored me by creating a holiday in my name. "Gray Tuesday" took place on Tuesday, December 13th, and from what I understand it involved dancers, streamers, dogs dressed in costumes, and copious servings of tasty C&D's! Unfortunately I was having a little trouble with the pacemaker on Tuesday and couldn't attend the festivities, but I'm told it was a rollicking good time, and that Dean Gray is starting to become a household name.

My producers have also informed me that there was a bit of an oversight in the first release of our album: the cover art! How silly of me. Back in my day, you didn't have to worry about that since it was printed right on the front of the sheet music. But these days the kids want flashy "bling bling," so they've provided "jpgs" that you can "downsample" over on the right side of your "browse." Please do so, even if you don't have the album yet, because I promise: someday, you will!
